Health Services

While there are many health services available in Nelson, most emergencies are best dealt with at Kootenay Lake District Hospital, which is operated by the Interior Health Authority (IHA). The hospital is located at 3 View Street.

Interior Health Authority (IHA)

The IHA is responsible for health services in the Kootenay Boundary region. These include acute care (at hospitals and health centres), home and community care (including residential care and home support services), mental health, population health (focussing on wellness and prevention of illness and injury) and public health. Health Facilities
