Nelson Hydro staff are proud to serve the greater Nelson community, our community. Our focus is on our customers and we are ready to assist with whatever you need, whether it is with paying your bills, arranging for new electrical service or troubleshooting a problem. The team is also committed to “keeping the lights on” and crews are on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to ensure a prompt and efficient response to unplanned outages and power-related issues outside of working hours, on weekends and during holidays.
Nelson Hydro also provides broader support to the community through the sponsorship of events and organizations that serve our customers. Public education around electricity and electrical safety are very important and Nelson Hydro provides information through its newsletters, social media, directly to schools and tours of the Bonnington Falls Generating station and Community Solar Garden. We also work with community members and environmental organizations to help sustain and improve the natural ecosystems impacted by our operations.
We are very proud of where we live, work and play with many members of our team volunteering their free time to support community initiatives and organizations like the Nelson Cycling Club, Nelson Youth Soccer and Nelson Search and Rescue.
