INVITATION TO THE PUBLIC

Nelson Hydro – Open House

Nelson Hydro wishes to invite our customers to an open house on Thursday, February 8th, 2018 between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at the Adventure Hotel banquet room at 616 Vernon Street in Nelson.

There will be a short presentation by Nelson Hydro commencing at 6:30 pm about the projects we have been working on and plans for 2018. We will also discuss the upcoming rate increase and the rationale behind it. 

And yes, there will be an opportunity to ask questions……

The planned rate change will be a general rate increase of 2.25% effective April 1, 2018 for both the Urban and Rural residential and commercial customers through all rate classes. 

Please note this correction to the previous public notice:

Nelson City Council passed the first three readings of the bylaw for the 2.25% increase on December 4, 2017.  It will return to City Council for final consideration once the British Columbia Utility Commission (BCUC) hearing is complete. 

As a follow up to the submitted application to the Columbia Utility Commission (BCUC) pertaining solely to Nelson Hydro’s rural customers, we will be advising our rural customers on how to participate in the application and provide a general understanding on the role of the commission.
