HALL STREET PROJECT - UPDATE #23 - May 1, 2018

*** ALL BUSINESSES REMAIN OPEN ON HALL STREET AND LAKESIDE DRIVE***

After a false start on Monday, crews spent Tuesday morning deploying road signs, traffic delineators and have closed the 100 Block of Hall Street from the south side of the CP tracks to Lakeside Drive. This closure has been done so that the Contractor can begin the work of installing two large storm sewers and one sanitary sewer under the CP tracks.

Over the remainder of the day, City Crews will deploy additional informational signage and will also demarcate permit parking zones and will post a large “Customer Parking” sign at the parking area located at 205 Hall Street. The parking lot at 205 Hall Street has been turned into a 2 hour Customer Parking area.

The contractor will spend the day establishing sending and receiving pits to facilitate the boring work under the CP tracks. The green construction fencing that is currently across Hall Street will be moved more towards the tracks, once the pits have been established.

The work in the 100 Block is anticipated to take 6 (six) weeks and during that time access to Lakeside Drive will be via the detour route on Cedar. The City asks drivers to observe the signage and to travel carefully through this busy area.

The City would like to thank the local businesses for their cooperation during this disruption in the use of the 100 Block of Hall Street. The City remains committed in keeping traffic moving and ensuring access to businesses along Hall Street and Lakeside Drive. The City requests that the public remain patient during the construction and to continue to support the businesses along Hall Street and Lakeside Drive.
