Hall Street Update Week of September 10 – 14, 2018
IMPORTANT UPDATE: In order to facilitate the crossing of the deep utilities in the intersection of Hall and Front streets, Marwest has scheduled this work to proceed as night work (10:00pm to 6:00am). Marwest has indicated that the crossing work is planned as night work because the work requires traffic to be reduced to a single lane as the work proceeds. Due to the high daytime volume of vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the intersection, constraining the intersection to a single lane is only practical during night hours. Motorists and pedestrians are requested to please observe all signage and direction provided by flaggers while this work proceeds. It should be noted that this work is weather dependent and will not proceed if adverse weather is anticipated.
In addition to the night time work that is planned for next week, Marwest will also be present on site during regular daytime hours to continue with the instillation of concrete sidewalks on the north side of the intersection and in the 100 block of Hall Street. Marwest has indicated they will also be installing light standards at this time. Traffic flow during daytime hours will allow for both two lanes of traffic going westbound and eastbound.
McNally has indicated that work will continue next week in the area around the Gazebo. McNally has indicated that crews will be engaged in installing light bases, the instillation of irrigation piping and the burying of electrical conduit. In addition to these works, they will continue with the concrete pathway from the parking area to the wharf early next week.
The City would like to remind residents that the businesses remain open and that vehicle access to Gateway Plaza and 625 Hall Street is from Lakeside Drive via the Cedar Street detour route.
