Hall Street Update Week of Oct 8 – 12, 2018
Due to the unforeseen delay with the CP crossing, the Contractor refocused and spent this week pouring concrete in the area around the gazebo (see photo below). Landscape work has also progressed with plantings and sod instillation is planned for next week. Also next week, the Contractor will be start work on the construction of footings for the new location of the Nelson Tramway shelter. The Tramway shelter is being relocated to the east of its current location, to facilitate a wider access into the parking lot area. McNally will also start work on the concrete curbs in the area adjacent to the Tramway shelter.

Next week, Marwest will be working on installing the storm sewer in the 200 Block of Hall Street and will progress towards the intersection of Lake Street. Once they have reached Lake Street they will connect the new storm piping to the storm system that had been installed during Phase I of the Hall Street project. When the work on the storm system is complete, Marwest will start work on the sanitary sewer and will work towards the tie in location at Lake Street. Marwest has also begun to install the traffic lights (see photo below) on the north side of the Hall Street intersection and will work on installing the poles and traffic lights on the south side of the intersection later next week.

The City would like to remind residents that the businesses remain open. Motorists and pedestrians are requested to please observe all signage and the direction provided by flaggers. The speed limit in the construction zone has been set at 30 km/h.
Have a great Thanksgiving Day long weekend!
