[ARCHIVED] Anderson Street Infrastructure Upgrade Update - May 1, 2020

Anderson Infrastructure Project

The Anderson Street Infrastructure Upgrade project, although it may not appear like it yet, is nearing completion. Much of the water system upgrade work is now complete, with the numerous trench cuts marking either buried water main or buried water services.

Next week, the contractor should finish the remaining water service tie-ins. These tie-ins will be marked by periods where the water services will be shut off to accomplish the project. The contractor will provide notice of shut-off to properties affected well in advance and provide a time frame for the anticipated service disruption. For those without water service during the tie-in procedure, it is advised to store some water for domestic use, as the work may take several hours. Hand delivered notices will be provided when such service disruptions are planned.

Toward the end of next week surface restoration works will commence, where forming for new concrete panels and letdowns are anticipated to take place.

The traffic control set-up changes and adjusts to move with the crews along the alignment. Traffic will be slowed through the construction zone, and disruption and short stoppages are to be anticipated; however, two-way traffic is the goal. Due to sidewalk construction, portions of sidewalk will also be closed until the concrete cures; however, signage directed toward pedestrians will be erected well in advance. As there is a lot going on next week through this work zone, please pay attention to traffic control personnel and signage.

The below photo was taken looking West, at the 200 block of Anderson Street. The crew is working along the property lines connecting the individual water services to each property.
