2021 BY- ELECTION
Councillor Brittny Anderson provided her formal resignation from Nelson City Council on Monday, December 14th, 2020.
The resignation of a Councillor triggers the by-election process. On January 12, 2021, Council appointed Sarah Winton as the Chief Election Officer and Gabriel Bouvet-Boisclair as the Deputy Chief Election Officer. The general voting day will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021. Below you will find subsections setting out important information for Candidates and important information for Voters. The nomination materials required for Candidates are posted on this page along with other informational material.

Information for Candidates
Candidates must submit a Candidate Nomination Package between February 9, 2021, and 4:00 pm on February 19, 2021 in order to be included as a candidate for the City of Nelson 2021 By-election. The forms along with other important information are available for download at the bottom of this page, via email request to email@example.com or by picking up a package from City Hall. Please note that in light of the Provincial Health Order, downloading a package or requesting one by email is preferred.
