Phase 1 of the new Mill Street substation is now complete and taking load from the City and North Shore. Crews are disassembling and removing the equipment from the old substation and are constructing phase 2 in preparation for the second transformer coming in the Fall 2024.

As part of commissioning of phase 1, it was discovered that the electronic protection settings were a bit too conservative, leading to an outage affecting parts of Nelson and the North Shore on the evening of Tuesday, July 9th.
