Extreme Weather Shelter and Warming Centre Activated
To support our community and our most vulnerable during the extreme cold weather forecast this weekend, an Extreme Weather Response Shelter and a Daytime Warming Centre will be activated:
EWR Shelter at the Anglican Church (701 Ward St, Nelson, BC)
Open nightly from 8 PM to 8 AM 
Thursday to Monday morning - Jan 22-26, 2026
Warming Centre at ANKORS (101 Baker St, Nelson, BC)
Open 1 PM to 10 PM Friday, Jan 23, 2026
Open 8:30 AM to 10 PM Saturday and Sunday, Jan 24-25, 2026
Please spread the word and help keep everyone safe and warm.
