Here is the latest Pier Project update for the week of August 22, 2022

In early August, North Mountain Construction poured concrete in the Ladybird display building walls and strip footings.

 Here is the Ladybird display building walls and footings with the forms removed.

Other items completed:

1.The layout for the concrete walls was completed that will house and protect the underground fuel tanks for the Prestige Marina which are located under the Pier.

2.The timber supply for the Pier has been delivered and unloaded in preparation for work to begin. 

3.MarTeck is onsite completing the motor winding to weld the pile caps that will be imbedded in the concrete

A little history,

The waterfront has historically always been a place to gather, especially during the summer months for evening strolls before sunset.

 It was also from here that passengers from around the lake or from across the country boarded sternwheelers that tied up at the former Nelson City Wharf.

Below is a photo from circa 1905,  showing us a view of the Nelson landscape from the Northshore.  The S.S. Moyie is moored at the Wharf.
