FALL LEAF PICK-UP
It’s that time of year again!
City crews have begun in the Uphill area to remove leaves that have fallen from trees on City boulevards.
Watch for the leaf pick-up signs in your neighbourhood as crews move throughout the city to complete this work.
What should residents do?
We ask that residents rake the leaves from their boulevards to the edge of the street against the curb. Do NOT create piles of leaves.
If heavy rains are in the forecast, wait for fairer weather to move your leaves to avoid clogging catch basins and potentially causing flooding.
The City does not remove leaves from sidewalks or private property; please ensure your sidewalks are free of wet, slippery leaves.
If you are able to move your vehicle away from where the leaves are on the street, this will help our crews to better remove the leaves. In areas of the city where there are a large number of parked cars and mature trees, sandwich boards will be posted to inform you of upcoming work.
As a general rule, we ask residents with off-street parking to park their vehicles off the road. If you must park on the street, and where possible, residents are asked to follow the “odd” and “even” parking rule, meaning that on “odd” numbered days, you will park on the odd side of the street and on “even” numbered days you will park on the even side of the street.
We thank you for your cooperation as we complete this important work in a timely fashion.
